End of Semester Thoughts
This project allowed me to analyze a colleague and determine where they rank in terms of their development into a 21st century educator. I decided to analyze my "grade level partner." While she still has a ways to go in becoming a complete 21st century educator, she is willing to learn and try new things, which is crucial in beginning to adapt new technologies. Fakebook is also a pretty cool tool to use and I'll actually be using it with another classroom teacher as his students analyze a character in a story. It was neat to analyze someone else and rank them in their adaptation stages; it's something that I think principals should do more as part of their annual review.
Who Is On The Move?
Mrs. Lindbloom is our Library Media Specialist. She is essentially my grade-level partner and we co-teach sometimes so that our students can get the most out of our unique scheduling situation. I chose to not just analyze her according to the the CBAM chart, but I've discussed it with her. We talked about how she's changed her teaching style to accommodate new technology and has even become a "Tech Prophet," helping to show other teachers what she does. We agree that she floats between the Management, Consequence, and Collaboration steps. She is open to receiving new technology and attempts to use it accordingly to the benefit of both her management style and the students. She should continue to use what she knows and continue to become more comfortable with it so that she can begin to customize it to better fit the needs of her classroom and students as situations change.
The directions suggested making a descriptive profile of a teacher. My mind immediately went to Facebook. With her approval, I created a Fakebook profile to help describe her and just a few of the awesome things she's done. Fakebook is a pretty cool tool, especially for having students create character profiles from characters in books. It's something that I'm sure Mrs. Lindbloom will pick up and use with her students as well to get them analyzing and creating. I feel bad that I left out her Nobel Prize and Olympic gold medal on her profile though...

Educational Technology Goal
This goal has been discussed with my principal as a revision of his previous goal of having teachers keep their webpages updated. Instead of the requirement, we're revising to involve our technology engagement committee in an effort to diffuse the adoption of practices throughout the building. The stakeholders in this project would involve 18 teachers and administrators working together to ensure linear adoption methods, meaning teachers would following similar protocols to ease transitions between grade levels and parents.
